Sexual Frustration

Ah, I thought I’d get your attention with that
This was a 3-card daily, and that’s what it looks like to me.

Storks + Lilies + Mountain
Initially it looks positive - Storks + Lilies could indicate changes for the better in either sexual matters, family life, or both. But add in the Mountain, and it will either block the changes from happening, or indicate that the changes will cause an extremely restrictive situation.
Notice that it can also indicate a couple caught in an impasse (Mountain) - the Queen of Hearts (Storks), and the King of Spades (Lilies).
Alternatively, it could be a move that causes restrictions, sexually and/or in other ways connected with the family - a relative moving in, the family having to move to smaller, cramped quarters, or possibly being stuck in a situation like that, and there being no remedy in sight.
I just call ‘em like they fall, folks.

Hi Chanah,
If you decide to go with interpreting the corresponding court cards as people, is there a rule that both must be interpreted as a couple in the spread, or is it also possible to only interpret one of them as a person?
In other words, could you also read this as ‘changes (storks) for a professional man (Lily) are blocked or delayed (Mountain)’ or that ‘a woman (Storks) is sexually (Lily) frustrated (Mountain)?
Thanks,
Aristede

That indeed is another possible scenario - it can be one person, and not two. When you add in the courts, there’s a whole other layer to be interpreted if it’s appropriate.
Good question - thank you!

Darn! I was hoping there was a rule or something.
I find that there are so many possible interpretations sometimes. I guess that’s where intuition is supposed to kick in an help me determine the right meaning.
In your experience, have you ever had cards mean more than one thing, and have two or more of the predictions prove accurate?

Ooh yes, indeed. One card can indeed be involved in more than one storyline, as can a combo. That’s one of the fascinating (and frustrating) things about Lenormand.
Have you read Philip Pullman’s Northern Lights? I believe it’s called The Golden Compass in the States. If you haven’t, there’s this wonderful clockwork device with 36 symbols (does this sound familiar?) and three hands - and the hands spin to three symbols, which can be interpreted on any number of levels. In the book, there’s one girl who can seem to find the right meanings, whilst the couple of other readers spend their time looking up the meanings, but having to guess which ones apply.
In Lenormand, you often have to decide which ONES apply, as people’s lives tend to have more than one issue going on at the same time.

Hi Chanah,
Haven’t had much time to comment the past few days as with my Mom here, I can’t get on the computer unless she is in bed for the night or in the shower. Just wanted you to know I’ve been keeping up reading your blog and enjoying your humor and interpretations of the cards!

Hi Chanah,
No, I haven’t read The Golden Compass–I’m only aware of it now because of the recent release of the movie version.
The clockwork device sounds amazing! It’s a very interesting parallel to the Lenormand three card draws.
I’m not big on fantasy fiction, but this sounds like something I would like!
